The Himalayas, known for their towering peaks and remote wilderness, will soon be the stage for an extraordinary skiing expedition. Led by experienced guide Luke Smithwick, and joined by world-class freeriders Tao Kreibich and Sébastien Varlet, this journey promises to push the boundaries of what is possible in extreme skiing.
The team will head to the Annapurna Basecamp, where they will spend 7-10 days exploring untouched snowfields between 4,000 and 6,000 meters. Their goal is to pioneer first descents in one of the most challenging environments on earth. March, with its fresh snowfall and unique microclimate, offers the perfect opportunity to carve new lines in the shadow of the world’s highest peaks.
The expedition is not just about skiing; it’s also a deeper exploration of why this incredible region remains so rarely skied. Through their adventure, Tao, Luke, and Sébastien will push both physical and mental limits while uncovering the hidden potential of the Himalayas as a skiing destination. This journey promises breathtaking action and a new perspective on what it means to ski in the highest mountains on earth.
